The leadership of «Union of Armenians of Russia» Russian public organization has appealed the President and the Russian Parliament for prevention of ethnic purge that is going to be organized by the local authorities in Kuban. (It should be noted that the Armenian ethnic minority is numerous in Krasnodar Territory. The majority of Armenians residing here are the immigrants of the last tide.) The document states the displeasure regarding the system that is going to be applied for the observance of the law «on reinforcement of migration control» passed by the local legislative committee the other day. It should be noted, the decision stipulates the deportation of all the immigrants whose residing in Krasnodar Territory would be considered illegal. The executing bodies are ordered to start formation of deportation centers and convoy units. Discriminating law will touch the interests of about 500 thousand of Armenian residing in Krasnodar Territory despite the existence of federal law on legal status of Armenian citizens residing within Russian Federation. «The intention of the Krasnodar local authorities to carry out discriminating and even nationalistic policy towards Armenians violates both official and moral laws», appeal of «Union of Armenians of Russia» states.
