SWISS FOREIGN MINISTER HOPES RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE BY SWISS PARLIAMENT NOT TO AFFECT RELATIONS WITH TURKEY

Foreign minister of Switzerland Joseph Deiss hopes the recognition of the fact of Armenia genocide by the Swiss parliament will not affect the Turkey-Switzerland bilateral relations. As «Arminfo» agency reports with reference to «TDN» Turkish newspaper, the head of the Swiss parliament thinks the possibility of the recognition of Armenian genocide increases day by day. At the present time 113 Swiss legislators have joined the initiative of deputy Joseph Zisiadis. The issue on recognition of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey will be discussed in the Swiss parliament in 2002 summer.
