EUROPEAN COMMUNITY TO ASSIST IN YEREVAN-TBILISI-BATUMI-POTI HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION

Georgian President Edward Shevardnadze has appealed the leadership of the European Union to assist in the construction of Yerevan-Tbilisi-Poti-Batumi and Baku-Tbilisi-Poti-Batumi highways, he has urged the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijna to appeal the European Union as the project had better have regional scope. According to Edward Shevardnadze, the EU leadership has already made arrangements for the project works and this means that the proposal is approved. The project is worth about a billion euros.
