«This is a serious political document stipulating a clear circle of Caucasus-European Union cooperation», has stated Armenian foreign minister on account of resolution passed February 28 by European Parliament, which calls Ankara to recognize 1915 Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, to raise the blockade against Armenia and to create conditions for peaceful development in the region. Armenian foreign minister has noted that this document is «something more than the recognition of genocide». «We welcome the importance, the European Union attaches to regional cooperation in the South Caucasus and we approve of the proposal to hold a conference among the three Caucasian states and the EU, the aim of which is to develop a strategy of regional cooperation that will make for the establishment of peace, democracy, social and cultural development, the growth of economy as well as the solution of the common problems in ecology sphere », emphasized Oskanian.
