ARMENIAN PRESIDENT ROBERT KOCHARIAN’S SUPPORT GROUP BEING ORGANIZED IN MOSCOW

An informal group to support Armenian President Robert Kocharian is being formed in Moscow. Its main goal will be contribution to the acting President of the Armenian State at the coming presidential elections in 2003. According to the information provided to CNA agency by a reliable source, “young and energetic representatives of the Russian Armenian community, who have much authority in the political and economic circles of Russia, will be included in the group. They are mainly professionals engaged in the spheres of science, media and business,” – the source told. According to its information, Kocharian’s supporting group will become an informal union of the Armenians of Russia, in particular, of those of Moscow, who have real hopes that the president-in-office will strengthen the Armenian state and will contribute to economic revival of Armenia. The group members intend to actively support Armenia and the President personally in the matters of effective development of the Armenian-Russian cooperation, attraction of Russian investments into the Republic, forming a positive image of Armenia and strengthening its positions on the international scene in general.
