Georgian community does not have to attach importance to the statements of some representatives of Armenian radicals requiring autonomy for Javakhk. Georgian parliament deputy with Armenian origin Van Bayburt made such a statement. As “Mediamax” agency reports, he stated that “Armenian leadership and 99 parties condemn the statements of this kind that are not of benefit either for Armenia or for Georgia.” “Such statements should not be considered seriously as they are not supported first of all by Armenian population of Javakhk”, stated Bayburt. The deputy thinks that the statements, Javakhk is to have autonomy, are made in order to attract attention of Georgian leadership to the problems that are a lot in the region.
