IN LATE FEBRUARY EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO CONSIDER REPORT REGARDING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

In late February, report regarding the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey presented by Swedish parliamentarian Per Garton will be considered at the meeting of General Assembly of the European Parliament. As «Arminfo» agency reports referring to Turkish «Milliet» newspaper, the main topic of the report approved by the European Parliament committee for foreign relations, is the European Union- South Caucasus relations. Turkey is characterized in the report «as a threat to Armenia». There is a claim in the document to raise the blockade against Armenia and to reconsider the position regarding Armenian genocide. In the report of Garton it is stated that «it is expected from Turkey pretending to become a European Union member, to change policy toward Armenia and Armenian genocide» reports «Milliet».
