“TURKS-MESKHETS COMPACT RESIDENCE IN GEORGIA IS OUT OF QUESTION”

The Georgian government can not solve the problem regarding the return of Turks-Meskhets at once, as there are 370 thousands of refugees from Abkhazia, South Osetia and Chechnya in the country. The Georgian parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze has stated this at the press conference. At the same time she has noted that Meskhets will be able to return and settle down in any region of Georgia gradually, but “their compact residence is out of question” has emphasized she, as “other people” live in the places where they lived earlier”. At the same time she assured that the government of Georgia will solve the problem of the return of Meskhets “stage by stage” and this process will take 10-14 years.
