The present reforms held by the Federal border service of Russia will not concern the operational group of the Russian border troops in Armenia. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, Director of the Federal border service of Russia colonel-general Konstantin Totsky stated it today. In his words, there is a corresponding decision of the Security Council of the Russian Federation to hold a reform of the structure of the border troops within the period until 2006, which is approved by RF President Vladimir Putin. Nevertheless it does not provide for serious changes, reduction or expansion of the operational group of RF Federal border service in Armenia. The further development is possible only in terms of the ways of making the forms and methods of guarding the state border of Armenia more perfect, as well as provision of the border troops with more modern technical means, Konstantin Totsky stressed.
