RUSSIAN FRONTIER TROOPS DETAINED 48 TRESPASSERS OF ARMENIAN BORDER WITHIN CURRENT YEAR

Within the past 7 months of the year Russian frontier troops have detained 48 trespassers of the state border of Armenia, 45 out of which were trying to pass through admission points. Chief of the frontier department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Armenia, major general Sergey Bondarev told journalists today. In his words, within the 7 months of the current year 110 thousand people have passed through admission points of the Armenian state border, 80 thousand out of them being foreign citizens. The general noted that attempts to illegally cross the border were also made by Iraqi citizens of Armenian descent. In his words, because of the situation in Iraq, they tried to enter Armenia from the Iranian territory, but were arrested by Russian frontier guards and conveyed to the security bodies of Armenia.
