The Forum of Armenian Unions of Europe (FAUE) has called on the Armenian members of the Turkish-Armenian Reconciliation Commission (TARC) to suspend their activity in the Commission. “Azg” has issued the statement, released by the FAUE that says the European Parliament adopted October 25 a report on Turkey’s progress towards EU accession, which does not contain a provision that makes Turkey’s accession conditional on it recognition of the Armenian genocide. The dropping of the Armenian provision was explained by the fact that it might hinder the activity of the TARC. The statement also says that Germany’s Bundestag has recently refused to include the bill regarding recognition of the Armenian genocide on its agenda on the same grounds. The statement also says that the Turkish authorities are exploiting TARC in their attempts to negate all initiatives for international recognition of the Armenian genocide.
