POPE HAS CANONIZED ARMENIAN ARCHBISHOP

Pope John Paul II in his homily that has taken place in Rome, canonized Armenian Catholic archbishop Ignatos Manonyan, who was the 1915 genocide victim in Turkey. This was informed by «Arminfo» agency. It should be reminded that in 1915 Turkish policemen required the archbishop to renounce Christianity and to adopt Islam. After his deny to do that, Manonyan, along with hundreds of Armenians, was deported to desert and killed.
