Christopher Garden, editor of “The Tablet” Catholic daily newspaper being published in Vatican, commenting the visit of John Paul II to Armenia did not consider it impossible that the Armenian Apostolic and Roman Catholic Churches sooner of later proceeded to the discussion of the prospects of unification of the two churches. As reported by “Mediamax” agency, Garden stated in an interview to “Liberty” radio station “the Pope and the Armenian Catholics aspire to unification of the two churches.” In the editor’s words, “if the Orthodox Church witnesses unification of the Armenian Apostolic and Roman Catholic Churches, it can contribute to unification of the Christians of the world.”
