Chairman of the Department of State on Georgian State Frontier Protection, Lieutenant General Valery Chkheidze came out with an initiative to introduce a regime that would simplify crossing some segments of the Republic’s frontier with Armenia and Azerbaijan. “A regime of simplified crossing of the frontier should be created for borderers and that will be normal,” – Chkheidze said. As it is known, regime of simplified crossing was introduced on North-Osetian segment of the Russian-Georgian frontier. As reported by CNA agency, according to the new order, the residents of Georgian Kazbeg region and North Osetia have the right to stay at the contiguous territories without visa for 10 days.
