The time is right to recognize the Armenian Genocide. US Democratic presidential hopeful for 2004 Senator John Edwards (D-NC) said when making a public statement. As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, J. Edwards is one of those political figures, who significantly support solution of “Armenian issues.” This time too, in the course of a private meeting with leaders of the US Armenian community, the Senator discussed a wide range of topics including U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide, U.S. assistance to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, and the search for a lasting and equitable resolution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Senator also recognized that the “wrongful blockade” against Armenia by Turkey must end, stressing that the United States government should impress upon Armenia’s neighbors.
