Former President of Judo Federation had no right to sell sports goods

President of the Armenian National Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan and President of the International Judo Federation Marius Vizer took part in a meeting of the Armenian Judo Federation executive committee to consider complaints against former Federation President Aleksan Avetisyan.

“We have examined all complaints, some of which proved groundless, and found out that Aleksan Avetisyan is a representative of a French sports company and is engaged in sale of sports goods, what conflicts with the IJF rules prohibiting federation presidents from doing business,” Vizer said.

By decision of ANOC President, Secretary General of the ANOC and President of the Basketball Federation Hrachya Rostomyan will head the Judo Federation President until a new President is elected.

Meanwhile, Aleksan Avetisyan was appointed as Vice President of the Armenian National Olympic Committee.
