In the struggle against terrorism and with a view to provide stability in the Middle East and Central Asia “Pentagon attaches increasing importance to the South Caucasus”. Armenian ambassador to the US Arman Kirakosian told “Mediamax” agency. In his words, military cooperation between the US and Armenia is at the stage of formation at present and confines to financial assistance and realization of military training programs. As the ambassador emphasized, Armenia and the US can jointly struggle against new menaces these being terrorism, spreading of weapons of annihilation, illegal circulation of drugs and organized crime. Commenting on Washington’s position regarding close relations between Armenia and Iran, the Armenian ambassador stated that “taking into consideration the complicated geopolitical position of Armenia, the US never spoke against the development of trade-economic relations between Armenia and Tehran”.
