ARMENIAN JEWISH COMMUNITY HEAD INFORMED WHITE HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES OF JEWISH LIFE IN ARMENIA

Within the framework of her recent visit to the US aimed at the participation in the International Leadership Conference of the American Jewish Committee head of Armenian Jewish Community Rimma Varzhapetyan Feller held a number of meetings with the White House representatives in the course of which she gave them a detailed description of Jewish life conditions in Armenia. Having expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to them, the US officials emphasized that it would allow them to approach the further discussions of the “Armenian issue” in the US Congress in a more productive way. As for the reports of some Armenian sources in the US concerning “assurances of the US officials about support for Armenian Genocide recognition issue”, so this, in R. Varzhapetyan Feller’s words, was the result of misunderstanding. “The cause for the wrong interpretation of some of my phrases and idioms probably served the imperfection of my knowledge of English and Armenian”, – Armenian Jewish Community chairman emphasized.
