Argentine David Nalbandian takes on Valencia finalist Marcel Granollers in the first round of the BNP Paribas Masters.
Nalbandian won this title back in 2007 and the Argentine will be a genuine threat to the big names this week. However he does not have an easy opener against Granollers who is fresh from reaching the Valencia final as a lucky loser.
The Spaniard's all-court tennis earned him plenty of success last week and he will be confident of his chances on a similar surface in Paris.
However Nalbandian did not look too shabby in Basel, where he knocked out Marin Cilic on the way to the quarters and of the two he is definitely the better indoor player. Andy Murray awaits the winner of this one in the second round and the third seed will not want to play Nalbandian in his opening match.
Nalbandian has won both their previous matches and triumphed 6-4, 6-4 when they met in Montpellier last month.
