The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is still an open wound in the South Caucasus. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, NATO official representatives stated at a seminar on the South Caucasus in Brussels. In their words, due to the conflicts available in the South Caucasus, including Nagorno Karabakh, Europe is distrustful to the NATO interest towards the South Caucasian region. At the same time it was noted that it would be extremely hard for countries included in serious territorial conflicts to join the NATO not having solved those problems. As of the Russian presence in the South Caucasian region, the NATO representatives noted Yerevan close cooperation with Moscow issued from Armenian national interests.
