Greco-Roman wrestling world champ announced best Armenian sportsman among servicemen in 2010

Famous Armenian sportsmen serve in the CSCA (Central Sport Club of Army), including World and European champion, Olympic Games bronze winner, weightlifter Tigran Martirosyan, Youth World Championships winner, wrestler Arthur Arakelyan, weightlifter Norayr Vardanyan, wrestler Aram Julfalakyan, chess players Avetik Grigoryan, winner of various international tournaments Hrant Melkumyan, winner of 2010 Russian Cup Zaven Andriasyan, footballers Walter Poghosyan, Khoren Manucharyan, etc.

According to deputy head of the CSCA, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Hovhannisyan, top ten sportsmen among servicemen is defined annually, with Arthur Alexanyan being recognized the best sportsman of 2010.

Alexanyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that thanks to the army service he became more disciplined and goal-oriented.

On January 30, Alexanyan will participate in Armenia’s Wrestling Championships, after which he will join the Armenian team for the World and European Championships.

“I wish all soldiers success and health,” said Alexanyan.
