US HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY

May 21 US House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider the
Genocide Resolution (H.Res.193), which specifically cites the Armenian Genocide. This legislation calls upon the United States to learn from the lessons of past mass crimes to prevent them in the future. As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), the measure of the Committee, chaired by Rep. James Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin, is devoted to the 15th anniversary of U.S. implementation of the Genocide Convention. As noted by ANCA, Congressmen Sensenbrenner is one of the 100 House cosponsors of the Resolution.
