GREEK GENOCIDE IN OSMAN TURKEY VICTIMS MEMORY HONORED IN YEREVAN

People of Armenia commemorated the 84-th anniversary of Pontian Greeks Genocide in Osman Turkey. The statement of “Patrida” Greek organization of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh chairman Eduard Polatov, in which he appealed to the heirs of the nations suffered from the Genocide to bring a suit against Turkey as the assignee of the former Osman Empire, was read out at the meeting. In his words, Turkey must acknowledge these crimes and return cultural and historical values to their original owners. It should be reminded that after the Armenian Genocide in 1915 the Turkish authorities continued the extirpation of the original Christian population of Turkey, slaughtering hundreds thousand of Pontian Greeks.
