The ministry of national education of Turkey has bound to hold seminars and composition contests in the country schools on the topic of “Groundless nature of Armenian ideas.” According to “Hurriet” Turkish newspaper, says a letter addressed to all comprehensive schools of the country by the ministry leadership. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, according to à printed issue of the Armenian community of Turkey – “Agos” weekly, the letter signed by Turkish minister of education Huseyn Celik, specifically suggests to hold a competition of compositions on the topic of “Rebellion and actions of Armenians in World War I,” and to print the best one in the education ministry journal. The fact that the letter was also sent to Armenian schools of Turkey is remarkable. “Ankara undertakes new efforts trying to resist to recognition of the Armenian Genocide, which is put to the international arena,” – “Agos” editor-in-chief Hrant Dink said when commenting on the actions of the Turkish ministry of education. “Adults, who have not found out, what is grounded in the issue and what is not, are trying to maintain the uncertainty in the minds of the growing generation,” – Dink said.
