ARMENIA LARGEST SOUTH CAUCASIAN IMPORTER FROM US

On the volume of import from the US Armenia excels Georgia and Azerbaijan. As noted in a business bulletin of the US Trade Department, “Arminfo” agency reports, goods totaling $111.8 million were imported from US to Armenia in 2002 instead of the $49.8 million previous year. The import increased mainly due to purchase of an airliner costing $63 million. Precious stones, meat, poultry and wheat were also imported. Last year the import from US to Georgia made $98.8 million, that to Azerbaijan was $69.5 million.
