CIS COUNTRIES TO COORDINATE EFFORTS TO DISCOVER CITIZENS DECEASED AND BURIED IN POLAND

The CIS countries intend to coordinate efforts on discovering their citizens deceased and buried in Poland. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, Russian, Armenian, Byelorussian, Kazakh, Moldavian and Ukrainian ambassadors to Poland stated yesterday at a ceremony of laying wreaths to the Memorial of victims of World War II in Warsaw dated for the Day of Victory over fascist Germany. Let us remind that over 20 thousand soldiers from the former Soviet republics, who died when liberating the country, lie in Poland. The decision by the CIS countries provides for formation of an international working group in Warsaw to engage in coordination of actions aiming at that. Let us note that it is the first joint action by CIS countries concerning perpetuation of the memory of soldiers in a foreign state.
