ARMENIAN LOBBY BEING FORMED IN GEORGIA

Armenian organizations of Georgia negotiate over formation of a National Assembly of Armenians of Georgia, which will be an all-Armenian consultative body of Georgia. As reported by “Nor Serund” newspaper being issued in Georgia, the Assembly deputies are supposed to represent 5 conditional election districts: Tbilisi, Kvemo-Kartli, West Georgia and Adzharia, Samtskhe, Javakhetia. According to preliminary agreement, the Assembly will have two head offices in Tbilisi and Akhalkalaki. As stated by chairman of the Armenian community of Tbilisi Arnold Stepanian, “it is the first serious attempt to create Armenian lobby in Georgia, at the same time activating our participation in state processes.”
