There are rather serious and complicated processes taking place in the South Caucasian region and around it that influence Armenia, too. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian said at an international conference on the Armenian Issue (Hay Dat) that opened in Yerevan today. Specifically, in his opinion, the evolution of the problems of security and economic development of Armenia also depends on the solution of a number of topical issues referring to Iraq. Thereupon, today the minister deems necessary to work in two directions. “First of all, we should try to influence regional processes in a way for them to do good to Armenia or at least not to be directed against it,” – he said. The second direction lies in further development of relations with the US, Russia, European countries. “In this respect the main task for Armenia is to find common interests with each of the countries, which is partially possible via pursuing a complementary foreign policy,” – the Armenian foreign ministry head said.
