05.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Spanish “Union Fenosa” company does not consider to participate in the tender for the privatization of the distributive power networks of Armenia in consortium with another company and has never considered it, said Analyst in the Union Fenosa’s International Investment Department, David Gomez.
In May 2000 Armenian energy minister David Zadoyan said in the interview to MEDIAMAX that the Russian “Itera” company, debarred from participation in the tender for the privatization of the distributive power networks of Armenia, may form a consortium with Union Fenosa for repeated participation in the tender.
David Gomez confirmed to MEDIAMAX that Union Fenosa is going to take part in the tender. “Our experience in Moldavia makes us be optimistic about our possibilities in the tender”, he said.
American “AES Silk Road”, Swiss-Swedish “ABB” and French “Electricite de France” companies have claims on the purchase of the distributive power networks of Armenia besides Union Fenosa. -0-
