Armenia’s head coach commented on the team's chances to make it to 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil finals as compared to its Group B contenders.
“Two of World Cup Group B teams, Italy and Denmark, have made it to EURO 2012 finals, with Czech Republic still retaining a chance to do so. Bulgaria, who’s pretty strong, can’t be neglected; though considered the weakest among current contenders, Malta is making a progress,” Vardan Minasyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
“On the other hand, the teams above, exhausted at EURO 2012, might fail to perform to their full abilities at World Cup qualifiers,” the coach said.
“Armenia squad, who’ve gained a huge experience, have much to show. We’ll be fighting hard for an entry to World Cup finals,” the head coach said.
In February 2012, Armenia will start preparatory training for World Cup qualifiers, with a friendly match expected on February 8 or 9.
