ARMENIAN STAND ON MILITARY OPERATIONS IN IRAQ CONDITIONED BY AVAILABILITY OF LARGE ARMENIAN COMMUNITY IN MIDDLE EAST

Armenia’s stand on the military operations in Iraq was conditioned by availability of a large Armenian community in the Middle Eastern region. Armenian president Robert Kocharian said at a meeting with students of Yerevan higher education institutions. In his words, over 200 thousand Armenians live in Arabic countries at present. “Now Armenia needs to pursue a policy taking into consideration the new reality established in the world,” – the state head pointed out.
