YURI MERZLYAKOV DENIED STATEMENTS OF AZERI MINISTER

Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group (MG) Yuri Merzlyakov denied the statements of head of the foreign ministry of Azerbaijan Vilayat Guliyev that they have allegedly held talks. As the Russian diplomat told “Regnum” agency today, he had no meetings with the Azeri foreign minister. In his words, his latest meeting with Vilayat Guliyev was held in Geneva in the presence of other OSCE MG co-chairs, before the first meeting of Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev. Answering the question whether there are advances in the negotiation process, spoken about by the Azeri minister, Yuri Merzlyakov stated one could not speak of advances reached as a result of negotiations, as there were no talks.
