Two people suspected to be members of the illegal armed units functioning in the region of Mineralnie Vodi were arrested in the Stavropolian region of Russia. “Within the frames of “Whirlwind-antiterror” operation conducted by the officers of the police, Turkey’s resident Ozdemir Birol and Alla Arutyunova, a citizen of Russia were detained. They are suspected to be involved in the commitment of the terrorist acts in the region of Mineralnie Vodi as well as of the ties with the members of the illegal armed units in the North Caucasus”, – a representative of the Stavropolian law enforcement bodies, who wished to remain unknown, stated. With the visa expiring December 25, Ozdemir Birol could not explain the objective of the journey during the interrogation. Alla Arutyunova, who in the course of the recent 10 years lived in Turkey and before that – in Grozni, could not present any explanation either. There were entry visas to Pakistan and Iran in her foreign passport. Due to the data of the expertise, another photograph could have been stuck to the passport. A criminal case was instituted by the prosecutor’s office.
