I do not think the presence of American military in Azerbaijan will necessarily lead to destabilization, confrontation between the US and Russia, Armenian defense minister, secretary of the Security Council under the president Serge Sargsian told “Regnum” agency when commenting on reports that possible military presence of the US in Azerbaijan. At that he doubted that Armenia should strengthen Russian military presence in the country just due to that reason. “Irrespective of any events and occurrences, we have stated and will insist on the necessity of consecutive build-up of the Russian military potential in Armenia. A base is not a flag, as a symbol of a state’s presence, but an actual force along with the flag, i.e. genuine presence,” S. Sargsian said.
