Info security expert: no viruses targeted on Armenia

November 30 is announced International Day for the Information security (Computer Security Day).

As experts Ruben Muradyan and Samvel Martirosyan told a press conference, only banks and leading organizations raise the question of website security in Armenia.

According to Ruben Muradyan, punitive measures should be taken for website and personal data hacking.

Expert Martirosyan differentiated between two outcomes of hacking activity: first, breaking a site and leaving a comment, second – panic caused by website attack.

“In 2000, Armenian hackers attacked Azeri websites, several major media systems leaving such information that urged even Azerbaijani Defense Minister to refute it. Such cases arouse panic,” Martirosyan said.

Dwelling on information security level, he said that there are no specific viruses targeted on Armenia due to the small number of internet users in the country. The expert also noted that no Armenian official website has been hacked after Armenian National Security Service took up the issue.
