Georgia may pass a decision to ban Nagorno Karabakh representatives entering the country. One of “Burjanadze-Democrats” bloc leaders, deputy Dato Tkeshelashvili told “Echo” Baku newspaper. In his words, issues of the kind refer to the type of inter-state ones and the decision thereupon should be passed by official representatives of Georgia and Azerbaijan. The parliamentarian noted that both countries are in the same position: their territories “are in fact seized by other states.” “It is in the interest of Azerbaijan and Georgia to work jointly to solve these problems,” D. Tkeshelashvili stated. Vice-president of the Foundation for Strategic and International Studies of Georgia Temur Yakobashvili has the same opinion, according to the Baku newspaper data. In case the Azeri authorities address the new Georgian leadership a request to introduce a ban for NKR representatives entering the country, official Tbilisi will answer positively, he considers. Although, in Yakobashvili’s words, the issue of securing the coordination of efforts of Azerbaijan and Georgia in international structures is more important. A special role in solving these problems can be played by the European Union and the NATO, the Georgian expert considers.
