The issue of Azerbaijan’s joining the NATO may be discussed in the course of a coming visit of Azeri defense minister Safar Abiyev to Washington. As reported by “Mediamax” agency, the minister himself said. In his words, bilateral consultations will be held in the course of the visit on the invitation of Pentagon head Donald Rumsfeld. S. Abiyev added that “many proposals” had been received from the US, which were being considered at the time.
