A special sitting of the Foreign Ministers Council (FMC) of CIS member countries is scheduled in Kiev today. As reported by “Novosti” Russian agency, CIS FMC chairman-in-office, foreign minister of Ukraine Constantine Grischenko has initiated the meeting. The situation in Georgia is on the agenda. Head of the Russian foreign department Igor Ivanov, who the other day visited Tbilisi and Batumi, is expected to inform his CIS counterparts on the situation in that country, formed due to the retirement of president Eduard Shevardnadze. It should be noted that Armenia will be represented at the meeting by deputy foreign minister Tatul Margarian.
