Hundreds of Armenian faithful from throughout the US gathered at St. Vartan Cathedral in New York City the other day to mark the 35-th anniversary of the cathedral’s consecration. A solemn liturgy was chanted and a plaque honoring the people, who took active part in the construction and protection of this momentous spiritual and cultural center of the Armenians of the US, was placed at the exterior of the cathedral. An exposition of historical items from the creation of the cathedral as well as its future activity was presented during the ceremony.
