MEETING OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS OF ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN EXPECTED IN MOSCOW

The religious leaders of the countries of “the Caucasian four” – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia – will meet in Moscow November 26. As reported by the Holy Echmiadzin press chancellery, among other issues Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II, leader of Muslims of the Caucasus Allahshukur Pasha-zade, Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II and Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II will discuss ways of settlement of conflicts available in the region. It should be noted that the latest meeting of religious leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by Alexy II, took place in 2000, and it is the first four-partite format meeting.
