4 ARMENIAN PILOTS KILLED IN AIR CATASTROPHE IN SUDAN

Four citizens of Armenia were killed in a crash of AN-12 cargo plane in the south of Sudan yesterday. As chief of the Central Directorate of Civil Aviation of Armenia Samvel Margarian told “Mediamax” agency, according to preliminary information, these are members of the plane crew: commander Samvel Mkrtchian, second pilot Tigran Petrosian, navigator Nshan Hovhannisian and flight engineer Hovhannes Krunchoyan. According to the source, to verify the data the Directorate leadership is trying to get in touch with “Saria” Sudanese air company, to which the AN-12 plane belonged. According to the data available by now, the plane exploded in the air, when it was preparing to land in Vau city airport. The total number of victims is 13. The plane was transporting products and money from the Central Bank of Sudan designed for paying salary to local state employees.
