Russian defense minister Sergey Ivanov, being in Yerevan on an official call, visited the Memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey and laid a wreath to the monument. In the territory adjacent to the monument the minister planted a tree to commemorate the tragic events of 1915. “The visiting of the memorial makes one conceive the grave tragedy the Armenian people have experienced. The complex forever unifies in itself symbols of tragedy, grief, courage, justice, faith and hope of the Armenian people,” Ivanov wrote in the book of comments.
