Russian official rules out Karabakh settlement through ultimatums

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev commented on the forthcoming trilateral summit of Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, believing Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement possible through a compromise instead of delivering ultimatums.

“Karabakh issue is one of the most complicated conflicts in post-Soviet area, with every side putting forward its strong arguments,” Kosachev said.

“Agreements should yet to be developed, reached and adopted by Armenia, Azerbaijan and those who live in Nagorno Karabakh Republic,” he said.

On January 23, Sochi will host a subsequent trilateral meeting with Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, who will discuss Karabakh conflict resolution process.
