ALERTNESS INTRODUCED IN RUSSIAN MILITARY BASE IN AKHALKALAKI REGION OF GEORGIA

Due to the tension arisen in Georgia after the parliamentary election, alertness is introduced in the 62-nd Russian military base situated in the Armenian-populated Akhalkalaki region of Georgia. As reported by “A-Info” agency, in spite of the situation in the region being on the whole calm, provocation is not ruled out there. According to the source, thereupon the Council of Armenian Non-Governmental Organizations of Samtskhe-Javakhetia and Kvemo-Kartli regions of Georgia called representatives of all political parties and candidates for deputies to show restraint and not to succumb to provocation.
