French Senator Bernard Piras said the oncoming presidential elections are in no way linked to Armenian Genocide negation bill, the latter belonging to the authority of Senate.
“The question is: who’ll benefit from the adoption of the bill? Will it offer a proper punishment for Genocide denial?” the Senator questioned.
“Still, there was a time when Turkey did not negate the Genocide, with perpetrators administered due punishment. To me, it was a more important step than current negation policy Ankara pursues,” Mr Piras concluded.
