Successful cooperation of the US and Russia in Armenia proves that Washington and Moscow can efficiently collaborate in the South Caucasus. As reported by Mediamax agency, Carnegie Moscow Center vice president Dmitri Trenin told about it in his interview to “The Moscow Times” newspaper. Change of leader in Azerbaijan being inevitable can destabilize the situation in the country, meanwhile Eduard Shevarnadze’s retirement may cause chaos in Georgia. Moscow and Washington should work out a plan to allow both countries to pursue their national interests in the South Caucasus.
