“Strasbourg expects Armenia and Azerbaijan to follow the example of Moldova and make amendments to the laws regulating the activity of the electronic mass media.” As reported by Mediamax agency, chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Peter Schider stated addressing the forum for issues of independence of public telecommunications held in Bucharest. Schider stated that “in some cases the PACE and CE have to exert pressure in order to prevent adoption of laws allowing immediate political interference in mass media activity”.
