RAO UES of Russia does not possess the right for exporting electric power generated in Armenia to other countries. As it was told to Arminfo agency in the press office of the commission for regulating the activity of Armenian nature monopolies, the Russian company should receive a corresponding license for exercising export operations. Meanwhile, RAO UES of Russia has not submitted such an application yet. According to the source, the company was only given the license for generating electricity. To note, in accordance with the strategic program, RAO UES of Russia considers the possibility of a lone-term leasing of 220 KV capacity international power lines connecting Armenia with Georgia, Iran and Turkey, thus making export of the surplus of the electric power generated in Armenia to these countries possible.
