The Armenian economy cannot develop without establishing diplomatic relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, Italian ambassador to Armenia Paolo Trabaltsa said in the course of a meeting with leader of the Liberal People’s Union of Armenia Seyran Avagian. In the ambassador’s words, the condition of the blocked Armenia, as well as the status of “a belligerent country” does not let attract investments to the republic, which in its turn destabilizes the domestic situation. He expressed hope for the Armenian president Robert Kocharian to be able to find the soonest possible way to solve the Karabakh conflict, which in its turn would contribute to establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. P. Trabaltsa emphasized the need to arrange the Armenian-Italian relations within the framework of international structures, which would result in Armenia being able to receive Italy’s support in solving of a number of important questions.
