US CONGRESS GROUP APPEALING THEIR COLLEAGUES TO ASSIST ARMENIAN COMMUNITY OF IRAQ

Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues intends to appeal to the House Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee to provide $20 million in assistance to 30,000 Armenians living in post-war Iraq. “Armenians have no voice on the recently appointed council and fear for their security and basic rights. The relatively small amount of funding being requested would assist in maintaining the strength and vitality of the Armenian community”, as reported by Armenian Assembly of Armenia, Congressmen Robert Andrews, Chris Smith, Mark Souder and Frank Pallone’s letter issued to their fellow members states.
